2016 Helen Sheehan Book Prize

First Prize: $1,000.00. Entry fee: $20. Deadline: 06-30-2015.

Elephant Rock Books is an imprint of the multimedia company Elephant Rock Productions. The company has been producing writing related multimedia for many years. Elephant Rock Books invites writers to enter this year's Helen Sheehan Book Prize. Submit one unpublished YA manuscript. Length: minimum of 50,000 words.

What the judges want: "Quality stories with heart, guts, and a clear voice. We’re especially interested in the quirky and the hopeful and the real. We are not particularly interested in genre fiction and prefer stand-alone novels, unless you’ve got the next Hunger Games. We seek writers who believe in the transformative power of a great story, so show us what you’ve got."

First prize is $1,000 and an ERB Book Contract. The winning manuscript will join Printz Honor Winner, The Carnival at Bray by Jessie Ann Foley as ERB’s second YA title.
