5X5 Literary Journal

Posted by Sally Clark on Sunday, April 17, 2016
5X5 Literary Journal

5×5 is an online literary journal that publishes poetry and prose of 500 words or less. We also feature photography. We publish twice a year (Winter & Summer). Submissions are welcome year-round through Submittable, but each issue is theme-dependent and thus time-sensitive, per the following schedule (which might vary):

•Winter issue/theme (2015): Now thru November 30th, 2015
•Summer issue/theme (2016): December 15th, 2015 thru May 15th, 2016

We’re looking for your very best poems that also intersect or bump up against the chosen theme somehow. We’re looking for nonfiction of all varieties, including but not limited to (short) memoir, personal essays, profile/portrait essays, lyric essays, meditative essays, and journalism. We’re looking for your very best fiction that works within our chosen theme. We’re interested in creative/innovative or straight-forward interpretations to our theme.
