Austin SCBWI 2015 Writer's and Illustrator's Working Conference

Posted by Sally Clark on Thursday, December 18, 2014
Austin, TX, SCBWI 2015 Writer’s and Illustrator’s Working Conference
(SCBWI stands for Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators)

Date – 03/07/2015 - 03/08/2015

Location – Marriott Austin South, 4415 South IH-35, Austin, Texas 78744

Registration is now OPEN for the Austin SCBWI 2015 Writers & Illustrators Working Conference.

The 2015 conference will follow the same format as 2014, which got rave reviews. Once again we'll have inspirational keynotes; a publishing panel with the agents, editors and art director; writing craft breakouts; an all-day illustrator track and an all-day professional development track. That's just on Saturday!

On Sunday the work continues with craft intensives for both writers and illustrators. Plus, there will be opportunities to have your work professionally critiqued by our faculty, and you can pitch the agents and editors on Sunday.

For the first time this year, in addition to manuscript critiques and portfolio reviews, conference attendees also have the option to submit picture book dummies for critique from faculty. And Cynthia Leitich Smith will offer consultations, allowing one-on-one time when you can ask this wonderful New York Times bestselling author anything you'd like about writing and publishing.

Agents/Editors/Publishers presenting at the conference:
Beach Lane Books Publishing Senior Editor - Andrea Welch
Sourcebooks Associate Editor - Aubrey Poole
Chronicle Books Design Director - Kristine Brogno
Literary Agent - Jill Grinberg
Literary Agent - Victoria Wells Arms

Conference Fees range from $90.00 - $258.00 depending on the days selected.
Event Extras (manuscript reviews/pitches/consultations) range from $30.00 - $45.00
