Austin Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Webinar
Not Every Story Arcs: Writing Nontraditional Picture Books

Date: Oct. 15, 7pm

Counting books, alphabet books, books that break the fourth wall — these nontraditional formats might seem simple and one-dimensional at first glance, but in order for them to stand out they must have depth, layers and rich complexity. In this webinar, author Liz Garton Scanlon (ONE DARK BIRD) will lead an exploration of mentor texts and discuss strategies for creating concept books that are compelling, memorable and reward re-reading. This webinar will be recorded, but you MUST register BEFORE the webinar to view the recording. Cost is $10 for SCBWI members, $45 for non-members. SCBWI members, login to get the discounted price.
