Children's Brains are Yummy Books

Children's Brains are Yummy Books, a children's book publisher in Austin, Texas.

Starting January 15, they will accept unsolicited manuscript submissions for only fantasy and science fiction picture books. These will be for traditional 32-page picture books for ages 2-5. They are not interested in looking at specialty books, lift-the-flap, or other novelty items. Also, the picture book must either be a fantasy (fairy tales, dragons, fairies, etc.) or a sciene-fiction (time travel, space, under the ocean, steampunk, etc.) tale. They will not consider any other type of picture book. However, they will look at number or alphabet books with a fantasy or science fiction theme. Finally, they will not consider manuscripts written for older children at this time. This is a call for fantasy and science fiction picture books, exclusively.

However, if you do have a picture book that meets their above criteria, they would be excited to look at it and will be accepting submissions Jan. 15, 2011 - Jan. 31, 2011. This submission round is for electronic submissions only. Please follow their guidelines to make sure they receive your manuscript correctly. Please note that they have seperate guidelines for authors submitting manuscripts and author/illustrators submitting dummies.
