Theme: Tales of the Sea
Deadline: July 15th, 2020
CRICKET (for ages 9–14) seeks seaworthy fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for the theme of tales of the sea. Time and tide wait for no one, so shiver your timbers and send us your best stories of pirate raids and stowaways, mythical monsters of the deep, scientific expeditions, tragic shipwrecks, and daring rescues. We’re interested in voyages of discovery, ancient trade routes, and those who make their living from the sea. You could also write about a family beach vacation or dangling your toes in the water while sitting on the dock of the bay. Please include a bibliography with nonfiction.
