Deep River Books Contest

Posted by Sally Clark on Thursday, January 13, 2011 Under: Contest
Deep River is giving away $1000 to the winning manuscript submission!
Deep River Books (a Christian self-publisher) is looking for the next bestselling book to publish from a new author. We are offering a $1000 cash prize to the best manuscript submitted and accepted for publishing. We are also offering a $500 award for the second and third place manuscripts accepted in these categories for publication.  “Certificates of Merit” will be awarded for runner up contestants whose manuscripts are of merit but do not win the $1000 cash prize.

Contest deadline: January 31, 2011. Email entries only. No entry fee, but only one manuscript entry per author.

Non-Fiction manuscripts must be a minimum of 25,000 words, maximum 90,000 words. Fiction manuscripts must be at least 40,000 words, maximum 100,000 words. Children's book submissions are not required to meet a minimum or maximum word count.

The winner will be offered a publishing contract under the normal terms of the Deep River Books partnership publishing program. However, the cash prize of $1000 will be given to the winner whether or not they decide to publish their book with DRB. Second and Third place gift certificate awards will be offered as discounts to a publishing agreement and will only be awarded as discounts off the contract if the author decides to publish their book with DRB. All “Certificate of Merit” winners will be offered the option of a standard DRB partner publishing contract in addition to their certificate. However, no author who enters the contest is under any obligation to publish their book with DRB.
