Hart Crane Memorial Poetry Contest
A Kent State Trumbull staple since 1966, ICON is a poetry and art magazine that is published once each year, near the end of spring semester.
Submissions are welcome from anyone, and the magazine is proud to boast that it receives poems and artwork from not only around the country, but around the world. ICON publishes the winner of the campus's yearly Hart Crane Memorial Poetry Contest, which is judged by faculty from the Kent State Trumbull English department.

The award honors the work of Hart Crane (1899-1932), one of the leading modernist poets in America, who spent part of his youth in Trumbull County.
