Hospital Drive Identity Contest

Posted by Sally Clark on Wednesday, May 13, 2015
Hospital Drive Identity Contest

Deadline: June 15, 2015

NO ENTRY FEE

"For Hospital Drive's first ever poetry and prose contest, we are seeking submissions that explore the idea of 'Identity' within the context of health care. Send us your most outstanding work about who you are at your best or worst, who you've been trying to be, who you know you'll never be, who you thought you were but aren't, who you wish you were, who everyone else thinks you are, or whatever form of identity you happen to be inhabiting right now. We're looking for well-crafted poems, stories, and essays that will change the way we think about who we are. Submissions must be rich with detail and a distinctive voice; they should combine strong images and/or a compelling narrative with an informative or reflective element; and they should reach beyond the personal to touch some deeper truth.

Hospital Drive editors will award $500 for the Best Poetry submission and $500 for the Best Prose submission. All submissions will be considered for publication in a special print anthology of the magazine, scheduled for publication in early spring of 2016." NB: As a condition of entry, you must subscribe (no charge) to the online edition of HOSPITAL DRIVE.
