Hunger Mountain Writing Contests
 
Hunger Mountain is the Vermont College of Fine Arts Journal for the Arts. They hold four annual contests. All contests now have the same deadline of MARCH 1 of each year, with the submission period open from October 1 to March 1.
 
The Howard Frank Mosher Short Fiction Prize
The Hunger Mountain Creative Nonfiction Prize
The Ruth Stone Poetry Prize – enter up to 3 poems
The Katherine Paterson Prize for Young Adult and Children’s Writing –$1000 first prize plus $100 prize for each category: MG, PB, or YA
 
All contests (except Katherine Paterson Prize) have a first prize of $1000 and 2 runner-up prizes of $100 + publication. Entry fee for each contest is $20.
