J.F. Powers Prize for Short Fiction
 
Free contest from Dappled Things, an online literary journal with a Catholic perspective, awards $500 for a short story up to 8,000 words with "vivid characters who encounter grace in everyday settings". Submit via online form.
 
The winner will receive $500. There is no entrance fee. The winning story will be announced in February, 2014 and published in Dappled Things, along with nine honorable mentions. Please submit your short story (no more than one, no previously published work) to our website by November 29, 2013.
