John in the John Humor Writing Contest

What we're looking for: Contest entries must be both funny AND have a teachable point that draws off of a text from the Gospel of John. Humor must be appropriate for an age 12+ audience and should not use vulgar language. Entries must be no longer than 1000 words. Preference is given to stories of 500 words or less; please write concisely--works ranging upwards of 500 words should have a clear and engaging (and humorous,) story that demands more space to support its full telling.

Please include a 1-3 sentence author bio which may point to a ministry, website link, etc.
Multiple submissions are accepted and encouraged.

First place will be printed on the entry for April 1, get a copy of the book, and receive $100. Second and Third place will each receive a copy of the book.

Entry Fee: THERE IS NONE. No previously published.

Contest Details: All contestants to the contest will be notified of the winner by the end of August. You will also be informed if your story will be included in the anthology/devotional regardless of placement within the top three.

Contest will close to submissions on August 15, 2016. The Anthology publication date is aiming for the 4th quarter of 2016 but is subject to market demands for the launch date.
