Kansas Authors Club, District 2, 2013 Writing Contest

All Categories except Book & Poetry, 2000 word limit, double space, 12-point font.

Prose

Short fiction

Memoir: Feature article

Inspirational

Book:  submit five pages plus a one page synopsis; needs to be 12-point font and double spaced.

Poetry:  One page, 40 line limit - title and spaces between stanzas count: Rhymed verse; Free verse; Japanese forms; Narrative; Song lyrics

Entries:  There is no limit on the number of entries one may submit.  Manuscript may be entered in more than one category.  Previously published work (on or off line) may not be entered. Put your name on your submission page only (a cover sheet with your name and address and the names of the entries submitted) and not on the entry piece.

Entry Fees:  Member: $4 per entry; Non-Member: $6 per entry

Prizes:  First place - $20;  Second place - $10;  Third place - $5  (Categories with less then five entries will have a first place award only.)

Awards Ceremony:  Saturday, May 11th at 11:00am - 1:00pm at Oriental Bistro, 1511 W. 23rd St, Lawrence, KS

SUBMISSIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN April 01, 2013.
