Mo Ranch Writers Retreat “Telling Your Story”
 
On February 17-20, 2017, Mo Ranch is hosting, “Telling Your Story” a writing retreat led by Dr. Jerry Lincecum (Speaker, Emeritus Professor of English at Austin College, Folklorist and Specialist in Texas and Southwestern literature, recipient of the Silver Certificate of Merit by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Miss Ima Hogg Historical Achievement Award for Outstanding Research on Texas History.) and Dr. Peggy Redshaw (Biology Professor at Austin College, contributing author to 2001: A Texas Folklore Odyssey, co-authored with Dr. Lincecum Science on the Texas Frontier, and Gideon Lincecum’s Sword: Civil War Letters from the Texas Home Front.) Jerry and Peggy have been teaching out-of-school adults for 25 years, sharing their lessons and tips on story writing.
 
Writing workshops will cover turning your family tree or set of genealogical facts into stories, transforming memories into short narratives, tips for starting your own story-sharing group and other writing topics.
 
Retreat recreation highlights include a private reception and book signing in the Mo-Ranch Bookstore, journal making course led by our art program, engaging conversations with fellow writers and quiet time to explore.
 
All participants will be housed in Wynne/Flato hotel rooms.
