National Writers Association Short Story Contest
PURPOSE
OF THE CONTEST: The purpose of the National Writers Assn. Short Story Contest
is to encourage the development of creative skills, recognize and reward
outstanding ability in the area of short story writing.
CONTEST
RULES: Any genre of short story manuscript may be entered. All entries must be postmarked by July 1.
Only unpublished works may be submitted. All manuscripts must be typed,
double-spaced, in the English language. Maximum length is 5,000. Those unsure
of proper manuscript format should request Research Report #35. The entry must
be accompanied by entry form (photocopies are acceptable), entry fee of $15 per
submission, and return SASE if you wish the material and rating sheets
returned.
PRIZES:
1st Prize -- $250; 2nd Prize -- $100; 3rd Prize -- $50; 4th through 10th places
will receive a book. First through third place winners may be asked to grant
one- time rights for publication in AUTHORSHIP magazine. Honorable Mentions
receive a certificate.
