1. the art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken, for exciting pleasure by beautiful, imaginative, or elevated thoughts 2. literary work in metrical form; verse. 3. prose with poetic qualities. 4. poetic qualities, however manifested. 5, poetic spirit or feeling. 6. something suggestive of or likened to poetry.
 
In April, we will host an online poetry series in honor of National Poetry Month. We invite poetry submissions that reflect upon nature, outdoor exploration, and accompanying moments of adventurousness or self-reflection.
 
Submit 1-5 poems, the name of the location (park, public land, or designated outdoor space) that inspired the poem or poems, and a short bio to amy@parksandpoints.com   anytime between December 15, 2016 and March 1, 2017. You may also include relevant photographs that might accompany your poems on the website. We will offer an honorarium of $15 per poem.
