Seven Hills Literary Contest

August 31, 2013 deadline for all contest categories.

$100 first place winners, $75 second, and $50 third plus publication in the Seven Hills Review.
Entry fee is $17 per submission.

Contest Categories -

Short Story 2,500 word maximum, any genre.

Creative Nonfiction 2,500 word maximum. Submissions in this genre could include (but are not limited to) memoir, food or travel writing, personal essays, new journalism, biography, nonfiction stories, and nature writing. The emphasis in creative nonfiction is on factually true yet elegant literary expression.

Children’s Picture Books for ages for ages 4-8, with 1,500 word maximum. Submit only the text that would accompany artwork. 12-point simple font only. (Note: We offer children’s chapter book competition in alternate years.)

Flash Fiction 500 word maximum, any genre.
