We're pleased to announce that The Writer, in collaboration with Gotham Writers' Workshop, is offering a new contest: a personal essay/memoir contest.

Here's your chance to tell us something about you! We're looking for your original, unpublished viewpoint about a particular topic or an experience you've had. Essays should be 1,000-1,200 words; the deadline is Nov. 30, 2011. For more details, check out the complete rules and guidelines at:
