Thriving Family Magazine: Drive Time Devotions

http://www.thrivingfamily.com/extra/call-for-submissions

Theme: "Drive-time Devotions"

Each family devotional includes three sections — Play, Talk, Pray.

Play together to encourage interaction. "Playing" might include word games, looking for certain items or hand movements — not just "talk about" (that's the next section). This should be something that families could do at a table in the house or while driving in the car. Talk about how what you played connects to the biblical principle/topic (see below).

Pray a simple prayer based on a specific Scripture; include the reference. Pick a Scripture that's different from the one used for the theme. The prayer is sort of a paraphrase of the Scripture.

Topics (feel free to choose one or more of the following but send as separate emails):

-Matthew 6:19-21

-Jeremiah 33:3

-Isaiah 55:11

-Proverbs 30:5

-Psalm 84:11

Target: Parents with young children. The concepts should be easy for 5- to 8-year-olds to understand.

Word Count: 150 words per devotion

Rights: All rights

Payment: $50 per devotion, on acceptance

Due date: Monday, April 30, 2012

Byline: Yes — in print and online.

Submission: If interested, please respond to Web.Features@fotf.org and put "Attn: Andrea — October Devotions" in the subject line. (Note: You must include the subject line as it appears here or the submission will not reach the appropriate editor for consideration.)
