Thriving Family: Service and Fun

Posted by Sally Clark on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 Under: Christian Print Magazine
Hello Thriving Family Writers’ List,

If you would be interested in writing a short article about the holidays, please send it to Sheila Seifert on the following topic:

Theme: Service and Fun! What have you done anonymously for someone else that made the Christmas season even more fun for your family? For example, one family got together with their church group, bought presents for a family in need, and delivered the presents anonymously to that family. We don’t need versions of that idea, nor do we need an idea about filling a shoebox of toys for a child with Samaritan’s Purse, but perhaps you’ve done something unique that other families could also do during the holiday season! We want to hear about it!
Word Count: 100-350 words
Article type: A true-life, parenting experience
Rights: First nonexclusive rights
Payment: $100 on acceptance

Date Due: Monday, May 10 at 8 a.m.
Subject Line of Your E-mail Should Read:
Attn: Sheila Seifert (N350–FNER–F100–M10) Note: E-mails without this subject line will be considered only for a nonpaying readers’ column.
Directions: Please INSERT your single-spaced, family story in an e-mail. Include your name and contact information. DO NOT attach it as a file. Attached files may not be read.

Acceptance or Rejection: The Thriving Family editors appreciate your article. If it was not accepted by June 15, 2010, your article was not chosen for publication. We hope to work with you on a different article at a later time.
Submit it: If you received this e-mail from an editor, you may submit an article by replying to the e-mail. If you received this e-mail from a friend or saw it online, please send your articles to thrivingfamilysubmissions@family.org

Sincerely,
