Participants in practice pitches must provide a one page query letter to include word count, genre, and a one paragraph biography of the author (education, any publication history, or awards won in writing.) You must email query & bio to johnnie.b@llallc.net by November 1st to participate in the practice pitches
● Friday, December 9th - 3:00pm-6:00pm - First round of practice pitches with Johnnie - Each student is allowed 15 minutes
● Saturday, December 10th - 9:00am-1:00pm - Final round of practice pitches

2:00pm-4:00pm - PowerPoint session presented by Johnnie - “How to Write a Sellable Submission Package: Query Letters and Writing Tips”
A former AP English teacher and journalist, Johnnie Bernhard’s passion is reading and writing. Bernhard currently supports writers worldwide as a literary agent for Loiacono Literary Agency, www.llallc.net. Her work(s) have appeared in newspapers and magazines, nationally and internationally, including: Heart of Ann Arbor Magazine, Houston Style Magazine, World Oil Magazine, The Mississippi Press, Word Among Us, and the Cowbird NPR production on small town America. Her entry, “The Last Mayberry,” received over 7,500 views. Her novel, A Good Girl, received top ten finalist recognition in the 2015 William Faulkner William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition, one of America’s leading literary competitions, and is set for publication in Spring 2017 by Texas Review Press, a member of the Texas Book Consortium: Texas State Historical Association Press, Texas Christian University Press, University of North Texas Press, State House/McWhiney Press, Stephen F.
