Wyoming Writers 2016 Writing Contest

The Wyoming Writers Inc. contest is not about how many words you can make; rather it is all about how well you can create with 3000 words…or in in 40 lines of poetry.

Five categories: Adult Fiction, Fiction for Children and Young Adults, Non-Fiction, Traditional Poetry, and Free Verse Poetry. The contest begins January 4, 2016; all entries must be received with a postmark date of no later than March 15, 2016.

$15 per entry; up to 3 entries allowed in prose genres; one entry of up to 5 poems per poetry category: traditional verse poetry or free verse. First prize winners for the five genres will be awarded $50; second place prize, $30; third place prizes, $20. See the complete set of contest rules on the website. Be sure to follow these guidelines carefully because failing to do so will result in disqualification of your entry.

Our judges for this year’s contest are all from out of state and have no connections to Wyoming Writers Inc., so all writers are encouraged to submit work. Judges’ bios will be presented in our conference materials.
